Professional Practice & Education Services, Recovery Alberta, Edmonton is pleased to offer free virtual sessions on mental health and addiction topics for adults, and parents and caregivers of children and youth.

Core topics are offered regularly with featured topics highlighted every other month.

November Education Sessions

  • Join us for the 4-part series on ‘Understanding Anxiety’.  In these core learning sessions, we will discuss anxiety, when it can be helpful, and when it may be harmful.  We’ll consider some different ways that anxiety may show up in our bodies, our thoughts, and our behaviours and share approaches that can help us feel more present, regulated, and effective. Participants are welcome to join one or more sessions in this series.

December Education Sessions

  • This month, we are offering the webinar, ‘More than Just a Bad Day – Understanding Depression’. In this session, we discuss the differences between sadness and depression, common signs and symptoms, as well as treatment options and supportive strategies for coping.

  • ‘Bouncing back’ from day-to-day life stressors is not always easy, but we can find greater resilience through connecting, caring, and coping.  In this session, we will look at stress and burnout and see how our resilience can be enhanced through supportive networks, self-care and compassion, and effective coping tools.
